Moths – Crabs – Fluids – About the exhibition

Designed for the opening of the Koszyki Hall, the exhibition brings together artists who work with moving images, mobile forms, active systems and living organisms.

Works by artists from Poland, Japan, Australia, the US and Germany, affiliated with the WRO Art Center, explore the current network of organic relations between nature and technology: new materials, sites and energies, and surprising interpenetrations and interdependences of nature and culture.

In the exhibits, bagworms produce their necessary, albeit flamboyant, protective cases from the fabrics used also by top-notch fashion designers while hermit crabs select cities to carry on their backs. The energy of Pacific waves is intercepted and transmitted on-the-fly by a kinetic installation suspended over the visitors' heads.

The WRO Art Center and Griffin Art Space started working together in 2013. Since then they have produced joint shows of Distinguishing FeaturesArtists Born in Poland Around 1989 and Istvan Kantor's Media Revolt as well as installations at the WRO Media Art Biennale.

Moths – Crabs – Fluids is the first collaborative project of the WRO Art Center and Griffin Art Space to be shown in Warsaw.
